How To Use The Weather To Your Advantage While Fishing

By Trevor Kugler

Most anglers don't realize just how much the weather effects fish, and therefore fishing. I think it's important for every angler to understand how to use the weather to their advantage while fishing. It's really much more simple than people may make it out to be, and by the time you're done with this article you're going to understand exactly how to use the weather to your advantage while fishing, and where to become even more educated about the weather and fishing.

Some people make it seem as if its necessary to get your doctorate in meteorology in order to understand how the weather relates to fishing and how to use this information to your advantage, but nothing could be further from the truth. The information that you need to know about the weather and fishing can be received by investing a very small amount of time. And the results can be amazing.

Let me ask you a question. Have you ever had one of those epic days fishing where it seemed like no matter what you did you caught fish? And if you were fishing with other people, they caught fish as well? Most of us have experienced days such as this, and I know I used to think that it was just happenstance. Or maybe that I was just that good a fisherman. The truth is that I'm not that good a fisherman, and that's more than likely not the reason that you caught fish either. And as I began studying this phenomenon I realized that it wasn't happenstance either.

The reason that we experience epic fishing days such as this is because of Mother Nature. That's right when the weather conditions are optimal, such as when a warm front passes through, fish bite much more readily. And just in case you didn't realize it, warm fronts pass through your fishing area quite often. Knowing this type of information is key in fishing.

As I eluded to earlier, it's not necessary to get your doctorate in meteorology to learn what you need to know about the weather, and how it relates to fishing. A half an hour of study by reading a FREE E-book such as this will give you the information that you need. That or simply do a search on the internet. The bottom line is that you need to know when the best times to fish are. When the weather conditions are helping you, rather than hurting you. We all only get so much time to spend fishing, so why not make sure that the time that you do get to spend on the water is when the fish are the most active? This only makes sense, because if the weather conditions aren't in your favor, such as when a cold front passes through, there's little reason to even attempt top catch a fish.
